Police have launched a probe following a shooting in East Kilbride.
Two people were injured in the incident a 11.05pm last night.
Police were called to Gordon Drive, off Calderwood Road.
Residents reported hearing gunshots around 11pm.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 11.05pm police received a report of an incident on Gordon Drive off Calderwood Road in East Kilbride.
"Two people taken to hospital.
"Officers remain on the scene. Inquiries remain at an early stage."
Firearms officers were sent to the scene last night and a number of surrounding roads remain closed off, including Gordon Drive and Calderwood Road at Alison Lea.
One resident told the Record: "Neighbours are saying they heard gun shots around 11pm last night and two victims have been rushed to hospital."
