A young man has been arrested after people were forced to flee a west Dublin house in a terrifying late night shooting.
Gardai rushed to the scene at around 9:20pm as a number of shots were fired at a home on Greensfort Crescent in Clondalkin.
The shooter sprayed bullets through the window and caused damage to the outside of the house forcing those inside to escape from the crossfire on foot.
None of the occupants of the house were injured in the shooting and a man in his 20s was arrested near the scene a short time later by the Armed Support Unit.
He is currently detained at Ronanstown Garda Station and Gardai are appealing for witnesses to come forward with the scene currently being preserved for a forensic and technical examination.
A Garda spokesman said: "Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact the incident room at Ronanstown Garda Station 01-6667700 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111."
He added: "Investigations are ongoing and no further information is available at this time."
