A 15-year old suspect in Tuesday's Michigan school shooting was charged Wednesday with numerous felony counts related to terrorism and murder.
The latest: Ethan Crumbley will be charged as an adult. The charges were announced shortly after a fourth person died as a result of Tuesday's shooting.
- Oakland County Sheriff's Office announced on Wednesday the death of Justin Shilling, a 17-year-old student at Oxford High School,
- Crumbley remains in custody. Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said that investigators had not yet determined a motive for the shooting. "The person that's got the most insight and the motive is not talking," Bouchard said Tuesday night.
- Crumbley has been charged with one count of terrorism, four counts of murder, seven counts of assault with intent to murder, Oakland County Prosecutor Karen D. McDonald said Wednesday. He will also be charged as an adult and will be arraigned later today.
- Students Hana St. Juliana, 14, Madisyn Baldwin, 17, and Tate Myre, 16, were confirmed Tuesday to have died in the shooting in Oakland County, about 30 miles north of Detroit.
- Myre died in a patrol car on his way to the hospital, Bouchard said.
The big picture: The shooting began about 12:51 p.m. and ended when deputies confronted the suspect, Oakland County Undersheriff Mike McCabe said at a news conference Tuesday, per AP.
- Bouchard said at a briefing Tuesday night that the suspect's father had on Friday bought the 9mm Sig Sauer pistol investigators believe was used in the shooting at Oxford High School.
- "He had the weapon on him, they took him into custody," unhurt, McCabe said.
- Investigators believe the suspect, who's yet to be named, acted alone, he added.
What they're saying: "My heart goes out to the families enduring the unimaginable grief of losing a loved one," President Biden said before giving remarks in Minnesota on Tuesday.
