Shona Gillan's friends raising funds for her funeral after Six Mile Water death

Friends of Shona Gillan are fundraising to pay for her funeral after she was found dead at the weekend.

Shona, 18, was last seen on Wednesday, March 3 when she left her home near Steeple Road in Antrim on Wednesday.

Her body was recovered from Six Mile Water, close to Riverside on Saturday and following a post mortem examination, her death is not being treated as suspicious.

The PSNI is trying to trace her final movements in order to provide the teenager's family with answers, and officers are appealing for anyone who saw her to get in touch.

Now her friends have set up a GoFundMe page to pay for funeral.

Matthew Ralston said: "Unfortunately my friend's 18 year old sister passed away last week in Antrim town.

"We are aiming to help raise the funds to give her the beautiful send off that she deserves, without adding additional financial stress on the family at an already heartbreaking time for them all.

"Any small donation will make the biggest difference so please give anything that you can. Thank you in advance."
