Shon Weissman Celtic transfer claim as Wolfsberger chief lifts lid on striker's signing ambition

Wolfsberger president Dietmar Riegler claims Celtic -linked striker Shon Weissman only wants to play in England or Germany.

The Israeli forward was linked with the Hoops earlier in June having bagged 30 goals in just 32 games in Austrian football.

It's been claimed Neil Lennon could pursue a deal if star striker Odsonne Edouard is sold this summer.

But Riegler reckons the Hoops would be wasting their time given his ambition to move to the Premier League or Bundesliga.

He said: "Of course there have been plenty of interest in Shon.

"But all these have come from clubs in countries that Shon isn't interested in going.

"His goal is clearly to play in England or Germany - that's where he wants to go.

"And staying at Wolfsberger isn't entirely out of the question too. Everything is possible with him."

But Weissman has insisted he won't listen to any offers until the season is over in Austria.

He said: "I want to concentrate only on the end of the season at the club.

"We have eight games to go and I've told my agent I don't want to hear anything about the speculation. I don't care."
