Shola Shoretire reacts to Manchester United debut vs Newcastle with emotional message

Shola Shoretire has reacted to his Manchester United debut by admitting that 'dreams really do come true'.

The 17-year-old made his full debut at Old Trafford vs Newcastle as the Reds pulled away in the second half to complete a comfortable 3-1 win.

Just as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer did when cruising to victory against Real Sociedad in the Europa League last Thursday when he handed Amad his debut, the Norwegian this time turned to Shoretire in the 89th minute to make the teenager's dreams become a reality.

Marcus Rashford was replaced to allow Shoretire to take the field, with the former opening the scoring for United in the 30th minute to get the ball rolling for the hosts.

Allan Saint-Maximin equalised before the break but an effort from Daniel James and Bruno Fernandes' 75-minute penalty ensured all three points for Solskjaer's men - and the opportunity to be generous to Shoretire in the final stages.

The youngster subsequently took to Twitter and Instagram to share the same message: "Dreams really do come true."

Whilst Shoretire didn't have enough time to make an impact like Amad's in midweek, he was nonetheless delighted to simply break his duck.

And his under-23s teammate Charlie McNeill was happy too, posting a reply on Shoretire's Instagram saying: "Absolute player."

Hannibal Mejbri said: "Congrats bro."

Meanwhile, among the array of under-23s teammates wishing Shoretire well, Paul Woolston added: "Congrats Shola us Rake Lane lads keep going."
