‘Shockingly sad’: Justin Bieber condemns Selena Gomez fan who urged people to bully his wife Hailey

Justin Bieber has condemned a woman urging fans to sabotage an Instagram Live event hosted by his wife, model Hailey Bieber.

The pop star shared an Instagram Story in which he revealed what the couple face “on a day to day”.

“This sad excuse of a human just encouraged people on video to literally go after my wife telling people to say that my previous relationship was better so on and so fourth [sic],” he posted.

He then shared a clip of the woman, who said: “This is the time where they will not be turning off comments, so we need to f***ing bombard that s*** with Jelena and how Selena is better.”

“Go after, please, let’s all go after [Hailey],” she added.

Before dating and later marrying Hailey, Bieber had a notoriously on-off relationship with fellow pop singer Selena Gomez. They ended the relationship for good in 2018.

Gomez told Ryan Seacrest in a 2019 interview that her songs “Lose You to Love Me” and “Look at Her Now” were about Bieber.

“These two songs were me wrapping up a chapter in a pretty little bow, and the rest of the album is just all about where I am now and where I’m going so in my opinion, these are great songs, but I’ve saved the best for later,” she said.

Bieber said that rather than let the fan “steal my joy”, he realised “how miserable she must be to want to spend her life trying to make others feel small”.

Hailey Bieber also commented, noting that while she would typically ignore trolls, the woman in the video “has truly [reached] a level of anger that is shockingly unhealthy and sad”.

“I would never in a million years wish for someone to be treated this way and I will never condone this kind of hateful behaviour,” she said.

She said that she was “wishing the woman in that video all the best” and added: “I hope she finds love, peace and happiness in this life.”

Bieber’s latest album, Changes, was inspired by his relationship with Hailey. It was recently nominated for the 2021 Grammy Awards, which take place on 31 January.

He recently appeared in a televised interview with Ellen DeGeneres, in which he was subject to some uncomfortable questions about his personal life.
