Shocking video shows women raiding Killingbeck Asda clothes bank and leaving with bags stuffed with donations for the poor

Shocking video footage shows four women raiding an Asda clothes bank and filling bags and a suitcase with Salvation Army donations in Leeds.

The women are then seen walking away across the Asda car park at the Killingbeck store.

The women were filmed by a local resident, with three of the women seen stuffing donations into bags before a fourth woman appears with a suitcase full of clothes.

The Salvation Army has described the incident as 'saddening' and West Yorkshire Police have launched an investigation.

The shocking act was caught on camera on Wednesday at 8.20pm.

After seeing the women with the bags of clothes, the person filming tells them: 'I am videoing. Got all your faces.'

The women ignore the individual recording and leave with the clothes as the man filming them yells insults after them.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "At 8.41pm yesterday police were called to reports of four people stealing from charity clothes boxes at Asda Killingbeck, Leeds.

"Officers did attend and searched the area, but the suspects had left.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or via the West Yorkshire Police website, quoting log reference 1691 of 06/01."

The Salvation Army told MailOnline: "While this is an isolated incident, we are saddened that anyone might find themselves in such a desperate situation that they would need to take items from one of our clothing banks.

"Money raised from donations to these banks helps fund our work with some of the most vulnerable people in our communities, providing essentials like hot meals for rough sleepers, food parcels for struggling families and doorstep friendship for isolated older people.

"This clothing bank in Killingbeck, like all our sites across the country is regularly emptied, including during lockdown and we continue to be so grateful to all those who kindly donate to us."
