Shocking video shows Scotrail Glasgow to Edinburgh train strewn with litter despite the pandemic

A Scotrail passenger was left less than impressed by how dirty his Glasgow to Edinburgh train was on a recent journey, despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Customer Paul snapped a video of the sticky train at around 4:15PM on Saturday 14 November and posted it online, penning: "The average Glasgow to Edinburgh train @ScotRail."

The video shows that one carriage of the train in the video has been taped up due to Scotrail's recent social distancing measures.

The rail operator say that their "cleaning regime is focussed on the types of cleaning that best combat the spread of COVID-19 – focussed cleaning on key customer touch points on trains like grab rails, door buttons, tables, arm rests, taps, toilets and sink surfaces."

But the recent video appears to show a carriage strewn with litter, food, and a sticky substance left on the floor of the carriage.

Scotrail replied to the customer saying that they were "disappointed to see this" and asked what service it was so that it could be investigated.
