This was the shocking scene as a young man and a protective swan battled in the waters of the River Liffey.
The dangerous scrap took place at the Lucan Weir on Sunday afternoon.
The footage, obtained by Dublin Live, shows a young lad in the water swimming get tangled up with a swan in the river.
The startled swan begins to strike the lad with its wings while also trying to get a grip on his arms with its beak.
After about ten seconds of struggle the lad breaks free and runs for dry land.
A woman who saw the scene unfold said: "The guy had a lucky escape.
"The swans are very protective of their little ones. It's quite amazing what can happen sometimes."
