Shocking video shows aftermath of roof collapse at motorbike garage

A main road in Walkden has been closed after the roof of a motorbike garage collapsed.

The owners of The Bikers Warehouse, at Grecian Mill, Worsley Road North, arrived at around 9.30am today (February 18) to discover rubble on the pavement in front of the building.

It is believed the roof of the building collapsed at around 5am.

A video taken by a member of staff shows rubble piled high in the garage, as well as extensive damage to the roof.

The member of staff can also be heard telling a customer: "Our roof's caved in so I'm afraid you're going to have to collect your bike."

Police have partially closed the road and have been controlling traffic, while the safety of the building is assessed.

Transport for Greater Manchester tweeted: "A575 Worsley Road North, Walkden.

"Road is closed travelling southbound near Enfield Street due to a collapsed building.

"Allow an extra time for your journey.
