This is the shocking scene on the M8 near Glasgow after a car went up in flames at the side of the road.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene of the blaze between junctions 11 and 12 on the motorway after being alerted around 6pm on Friday July 17.
Video shows thick clouds of white smoke billowing out from a black car by the side of the road.
Flames can be seen coming from the vehicle's bonnet, as fire crews battle to contain the blaze.
The fire service confirmed they were tackling the fire, however they have now left.
It is unclear at this stage if there were any injuries during the incident.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "We were alerted to a car fire on the M8 around 6pm on Friday July 17, 2020.
"Fire crews attended the scene, however they have now left."
Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
