Shocking questions the Spice Girls were asked revealed in new Channel 4 Documentary

The Spice Girls are celebrating 25 years of girl power, marking their journey since their release of debut album 'Spice'.

Channel 4 is airing a documentary series all about the girl group's phenomenal success and their rise to stardom.

But fans of the girls have been quick to comment on the shocking questions that the girls were forced to endure during their rise to stardom, which have been revealed in the series.

Part one of the show,Spice Girls: How Girl Power Changed Britain, which aired last week, focused on how the group kicked off their journey and their quick rise to fame but this week's episode was significantly more shocking.

Episode two of the documentary looks back on the Spice Girls' treatment in interviews and the inappropriate questions they had to endure.

Fans have been appalled at the many examples the episode pointed out.

Victoria Beckham, just 12 weeks after giving birth to her first child Brooklyn, was forced to step on scales on live TV whilst the presenter read out her weight.

The interview took place on TFI Friday, hosted by Chris Evans, and as the host congratulated the star on "getting back to shape after the birth”, Victoria looked uncomfortable as she pointed out he had done the same to bandmate Geri Halliwell.

Geri, who had been open about her struggle with bulimia had been subjected to the same intense scrutiny, just like Victoria and the rest of her bandmates.

Fans were quick to comment, taking to social media to express their anger.

One wrote: "Watching the Spice Girls documentary on All 4 and just BOILING with anger at the extraordinary wall to wall misogyny. Just one example - Chris Evans literally weighing Victoria Beckham on TV (she had given birth 12 weeks prior) - beyond grim."

Another added: "Watching the Spice Girls documentary and it’s riling me up. Men are disgusting and misogynistic".

Leeds' Mel B, otherwise known as Scary Spice, shared her delight at the girl power Spice Girls managed to achieve and their milestone celebration.

Posting to Instagram, she wrote: "Ahhh finally peeps. It's been a very VERY emotional day, but we WILL be back and that's my 'scary' promise to you all."

In a separate post, Mel B said: "Wowza it’s been 25 years!! How unreal is that ! We are blessed to be Spice Girls but we are honoured to have the best fans in the world. We wouldn’t be anywhere without you and can’t thank you enough for all the love we’ve had from all of you for two and a half decades."
