Shocking pictures show the extent of the damage caused to a house following the horrific shooting in Tallaght.

A man in his 30s was taken to hospital after shots were fired in Mac Uilliam Estate in Fortunestown shortly after 6pm yesterday.

Horror pictures show hundreds of bullet holes in the walls of the house as well as the windows being smashed to bits.

Gardai rushed to the scene after receiving reports of shots being fired at a house in the area.

On arrival, they found the victim who had apparent pellet wounds in his legs.

The man was taken to Tallaght Hospital where is injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Gardai have appealed for witnesses to contact them.

A garda spokesman said: "At approximately 6.20pm Gardaí were called to the scene of an incident at Mac Uilliam Estate, Fortunestown Lane, following reports of shots fired at a house.

"On arrival, Gardaí discovered a man in his 30s with apparent pellet wounds to his legs.

"He was taken to Tallaght Hospital for treatment. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

"No arrests have been made to date and enquiries are ongoing."
