Pictures taken following a crash show the shocking extent of damage caused.
A man was taken to hospital after the crash which involved a car and a lorry at around 6.45am on Friday (August 9).
It happened on the A617 near Upton.
The road was closed for a number of hours and diversion was in place.
The man was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre for treatment.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue sent two crews from Newark and Tuxford to the scene.
A spokesman said: "We sent two crews to the scene and one person was extricated from his vehicle. He was then taken to hospital."
Nottinghamshire Police were also called to the scene to close the road.
