Shocking pictures reveal aftermath of truck fire on N7 Newlands Cross road this morning

Shocking pictures have revealed the aftermath of the truck fire on the N7 slip road at Newlands Cross.

Emergency crews from Tallaght Fire Station rushed to the scene after a truck caught fire on the Tallaght/Clondalkin outbound slip road on the N7.

Pictures posted by the Dublin Fire Brigade reveal the melted contents of the truck that seemed to have been carrying bottles of fizzy drinks amongst other things.

While the fire has been put out, two of the lanes have remained closed as the crew is working on the recovery of the vehicle.

The fire brigade said in the caption: “We’ve now finished up at the truck fire on the #N7 slip road at Newlands Cross.

“However 2 of the lanes remain closed as recovery of the vehicle takes place. The main N7 lanes are unaffected. @aaroadwatch.”

The fire has affected visibility on the N7 due to the smoke and steam earlier this morning.

Dublin Fire Brigade previously tweeted: “Firefighters from Tallaght Fire Station have extinguished a truck on fire on the Tallaght/Clondalkin outbound slip road on the #N7 at Newlands Cross.

“Visibility was affected on the N7 from smoke and steam as the fire was being fought. @aaroadwatch @M50Dublin.”
