Shocking picture shows aftermath of ram-raid on shop

Police believe a telehandler was used to steal money from a cash machine during a late-night ram raid.

The cash machine was ripped from the wall of the McColl’s store in High Street, Blyth, at around 12am on Friday, March 20.

Nottinghamshire Police says the machine was then loaded into a white van and driven away from the scene.

A cordon is now in place while officers investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Detective Sergeant Ricky Ellis said: “We have recovered the cash machine, however, cash has been taken from it.

"We are now appealing for information and witnesses as part of our investigation.

“If you have any information, witnessed the incident or have any dashcam or CCTV footage, please do not hesitate to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 4 of 20 March 2020.”
