Shocking picture emerges of wreckage after car smashes through wall in village

A driver had to be rescued from their car after it crashed into a wall in an East Midlands village.

Police were called to the scene by residents in Glapwell Hill, near Bolsover, Derbyshire Live reports.

The driver was pulled from the wreckage by emergency services and taken to hospital, though there has been no further information on their condition.

In the aftermath of the crash, Shirebrook Police Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) posted an image of the scene on social media.

The picture shows a blue Ford Kuga against the wall of a property in the village surrounded by broken bricks and fence panels.

The post also warned there could be delays affecting motorists in the area, but the scene was later cleared.

It said: "Road traffic collision on Glapwell Hill, casualties have been safely removed from the vehicle and we are now awaiting recovery.

"There may be slight delays in the area whilst this takes place."
