Shocking photos show aftermath of 'explosions' in Edinburgh following car blaze

Shocking photos have revealed the aftermath of a blaze in Edinburgh following an "explosion" last night.

Fire crews raced to the Sugar Bond House car park in Bonnington amid reports of a fire at around 6:15pm on Sunday night (19 April).

As reported by Edinburgh Live, four fire engines and a height appliance were called in to bring the blaze under control.

Locals reported hearing as many as four explosions around the time of the incident, with a clip showing smoke billowing from the car park.

Photos from the scene today reveal the "explosions" were the result of a car fire in the parking lot underneath the building.

The blackened wreckage of the vehicle remains in the car park this afternoon, with the roof above also singed by the fire and debris littering the floor.

It is understood that no one was injured in the incident.

Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
