A car is on fire on the M74 with fire crews racing to the scene.
A photo posted by Traffic Scotland shows smoke and flames coming from the vehicle on the motorway, where the M74 meets the M8 in Glasgow.
Thick black smoke is seen billowing into the sky.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they are on the scene.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: “We’re in attendance just now.
“We’ve got two appliances there, on the northbound carriageway of the M74.”
Traffic Scotland said: “M74 N/B vehicle fire.
“Vehicle fire on the #M74 N/B onto the #M8 W/B.
“Lane 1 closed to assist.
“Congestion is tailing back to J2.”
