According to CBS New York, the robbery happened on October 14 in the Brooklyn neighbourhood of Williamsburg.
Police said a 30-year-old man was getting his haircut when a man pointed a gun at him and demanded he hand over his valuables.
The victim handed over $350 in cash (£272) along with his credit cards and cellphone.
According to police, the victim said he thought the suspect spotted him when he parked his BMW nearby.
