Shocking moment man arrested following massive garda car chase all over North Dublin from Finglas to East Wall

This is the shocking moment that gardai finally arrested a man following a massive car chase that brought the city to a standstill on Thursday night.

The whole of north Dublin was on lockdown after the massive chase dragged gardai from Finglas all over North Dublin before the man was eventually caught.

Around 30 squad cars, helicopters along with armed gardai followed the Honda Accord which failed to stop in Finglas.

In incredible footage obtained by Dublin Live, a man can be seen escaping on foot near Connolly Station.

Following that, Dublin Live posted a video which showed a man being arrested on the train tracks of Connolly which caused huge disruption to train services all over Dublin.

A source told Dublin Live that the car was not believed to be stolen but did fail to stop for officers.

As well as this, the source added that drugs were allegedly found in the vehicle once the chase had ended.

It is said that material was also thrown from the car during the incident.

In a statement to Dublin Live, a garda spokeswoman said: "Gardaí attempted to stop a car in Finglas on the 1 August 2019, a number of Garda units assisted.

"The car was eventually stopped and one man has been arrested for road traffic offences. Investigations are ongoing."
