Shocking images emerge of household waste dumped on street in broad daylight in west Dublin

Disgusting images have emerged of discarded household rubbish in a west Dublin town.

In the pictures, packaging, cans, boxes, bottles, and wrappers among many other commonly used items can be seen strewn across the ground in broad daylight near Main Street in Clondalkin.

Clondalkin Tidy Towns shared pictures of the dumping in an angry post on social media this afternoon.

They said "Not withstanding the National Tidy Towns Adjudicators making their plans to judge over 800 towns and villages some business people in Clondalkin are trying their best to undermine the image of Clondalkin."

"Black bins overflowing are only part of the litter issue. Today the illegal dumping in the car park behind the Gun Powder in Main Street is stomach wrenching.

"Councillor Francis Timmons has already made representations to  South Dublin County Council seeking action."

The page then referred to the dumping as a 'health risk'.

They continued: "This site is now a health risk. Last year rats had been seeing going through similar domestic waste.

"It’s time for each and every public representative to actually represent the people on this issue.

"Is this good enough? Have your say."
