Shocking footage shows two Luas ticket inspectors throwing teenager onto tracks in south Dublin

Shocking footage has emerged of two tram ticket inspectors throwing a teenager onto the tracks.

Two men in orange high-vis jackets were seen on top of the youngster at Blubell Luas tram stop in south Dublin on Friday.

He was reportedly hospitalised following the incident after the inspectors were seen pinning him down and sitting on him.

The clip appears to show a young man trying to retrieve documentation from one of the two members of staff.

As he tries to get the documentation back, he is grappled to the ground by the first staff member.

The young man resists being restrained and tries to get out of the hold but is subsequently held down by a second member of staff then on the tracks.

After this, he is moved by the two members of staff from the tracks onto the platform where he is forcefully restrained further.

While on the platform, one of the staff members can be seen using his walkie-talkie as the Luas pulls away.

In a statement, Transdev said they are aware of the incident and are currently investigating it.

They said: "On completion of the investigation, having reviewed all of the facts we will take any appropriate action. Until then we have no further comment on this matter."
