A man forcefully shoved a defenceless little dog under the gates of the DSPCA last night, leaving her with multiple fractures and "excruciating" injuries.
The incident took place at around 8pm yesterday evening and was all caught on security camera.
The distressing images show the man squeezing the dog under the tiny gap between the gate and the ground.
The poor pooch was left so battered that she couldn't get to her feet to call after the man after he had left, instead collapsing under her slight frame.
The terrier cross has since been christened Peach and is recovering, but suffered some nerve damage, a fractured pelvis, and severe bruising from the incident.
The DSPCA have urged anyone who may know the man to get in touch.
"This is footage from our shelter gates, taken yesterday evening," they said.
"This is upsetting and not acceptable.
"We are asking the public if they recognise the individual in the video or have any information that would help our enquiry.
"The dog, a 1-2 year old terrier cross, has multiple fractures to her pelvis, nerve damage and bruising so the manner in which she was pushed under the gate must have been excruciating for her.
"She was taken in by our vets and is being looked after. We have called her Peach
"The person who dumped her made no effort to contact us by ringing the buzzer on the gate.
"Any information can be emailed to inspectors@dspca.ie."
