Shocking footage shows gun gang raid home and threaten couple and baby for puppies

Shocking footage has revealed the moment a gang robbed a family at gunpoint by smashing their way inside a home and threatening a couple and their newborn baby.

The violent mob were armed and dressed all in black as they stormed the house in Old Swan before escaping with potentially-lucrative American Bulldog puppies.

A video that appears to capture the criminals in the act has now emerged and shows how they broke inside to target the young family.

Up to five men can be seen in the back garden, one of them appearing to be armed with a gun, and another with a long metal crowbar type implement.

One of the gang uses a large rock which he hurls through the glass of the back door, before reaching inside to open the lock.

One of the offenders gestures to others to come inside while one of them acts as a lookout in the garden.

Another clip shows one of the criminals later hurrying out of the house with three puppies in his arms.

The alarming incident happened on Derwent Road West in Old Swan, at about 2.25pm on Sunday, and police have launched an investigation.

Posting a message on social message, a man said: "Devastating news!

"Our house was robbed today at gunpoint.

"Me, my baby daughter and girlfriend robbed at gunpoint.

"We are all safe.

"They robbed cars, money, watches, keys, they took six of our puppies.

"We have got three back but there are still three hungry puppies out there alone.

"Please share everyone, £3,000 reward for safe return, we need those dogs back!"

The offenders left in a VW Golf and a white Ford Focus in the direction of Green Lane.

None of the occupants suffered injuries, but were left "extremely shaken" by the ordeal.

Police said the VW Golf was later found abandoned in Cotswold Street, Kensington, and will be forensically examined.

The Ford Focus, which was found to have been stolen in a previous incident, was reported to have crashed into a van on Sheil Road, Kensington, at around 3.45pm and will also be forensically examined.

Yesterday, Merseyside Police said they had arrested men in connection with the robbery.

They are aged 42 and 23, both from Liverpool, and are being quizzed on suspicion of aggravated burglary.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "Efforts are ongoing to locate any outstanding suspects.
