Shocking CCTV shows paint stripper attack on 13 cars at Scots dealership

A thug has has been caught on camera causing thousands of pounds of damage in a nighttime attack on more than a dozen cars at a Scots garage.

The vandal was caught on CCCTV pouring paint stripper onto the vehicles at family owned Murray Motors in Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire on Tuesday night.

In the shock videos on social media a hooded man is seen climbing over a fence to enter the premises on the town's South Drive.

Another clip shows a man pouring a substance onto various motors.

Devastated bosses at the business think the attack could cost them as much as £100,000.

In another video circulated on Facebook, a garage boss describes the damage and said the business had been targeted for decades.

He said: "A bit of bad news this morning, some damage has been done again.

"Paint stripper, the usual. eating away at the paint. 13 cars have been done, some are worse than others."

He added: "It is absolutely horrendous."

Loyal customers have rallied around the firm and branded the attack 'disgusting'.

One wrote: "Absolutely disgusting behaviour.. I really hope you catch who ever it is... Gutted for you, with amount of damage that this one person has caused..."

Another wrote: "Disgusting !! Heartbreaking for the owner, Really hope he manages to catch whoever did that. Someone must know who it is..."

Police are probing the incident.

Constable Christopher Lamb said “Enquiries are ongoing into this incident and I am appealing to anyone who may have information to come forward.”

A statement issued through Police Scotland added: "Officers are appealing for information after vehicles were damaged at a car dealership in Fraserburgh.

"During the evening of Tuesday, 23 March 2021, damage was caused to numerous vehicles at Murray Motors, South Road, Fraserburgh.

"Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area or has any information relating to the incident to contact Police Scotland quoting incident 0508 of the 24th March 2021.

"Alternatively they can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given anonymously."
