A documentary about a man who had to have a new penis grafted onto his arm after the old one fell off left viewers shocked last night (Tuesday, May 3). It told the story of former drug addict Malcolm McDonald who suffered a blood infection so bad it caused his manhood to turn black and drop off in the toilet.
The 47-year-old from Norfolk then had to have it grafted onto his arm, rather than back between his legs, in order to save it. He then had to endure a six year wait to have it returned to its rightful position on his body - meaning he always had to wear long sleeved tops in order to hide his member in public.
And, as Channel 4 's The Man With The Penis On His Arm showed, life for Malcolm proved to be full of unusual and unexpected challenges. "Can you imagine six years of your life with a penis swinging on your arm?" he said at one point.
"The worst thing is when you cuddle your nan at Christmas and it hits her in the eye." He also told of how, whilst shopping, an elderly lady once asked him to get an item down from the top shelf of a supermarket, only for it to come loose and swing close to her head.
Another revelation was that he would use his penis - reconstructed on his left forearm by a surgical process called phalloplasty - to hold his arrows whilst playing a game of darts. He'd also have to take great care whilst cooking, leaning over a hot stove when you've a penis on your arm obviously presenting the kind of dilemmas most people don't have to deal with.

And immediately after the scenes fans took to social media to air their views. One Twitter user posted, "Clearly a very hand accessory for holding your darts."
Malcolm, who underwent a nine-hour op to have his penis returned to its former glory, said it's turned his life around. "It’s been a nightmare, but it’s gone now," he added.
