Shocked viewers concerned about Shaun Ryder's appearance on Good Morning Britain

Viewers of Good Morning Britain took to social media to voice their shock at Shaun Ryder's new appearance.

The Happy Mondays frontman was appearing on the programme to promote the band's latest tour.

Fans seemed to be concerned about the change in Shaun Ryder's appearance.

The 56-year-old previously had a brunette long buzz cut, but on Good Morning Britain Shaun could be seen sporting a bald head, the Liverpool Echo reports.

One Twitter user wrote: "Have you seen Shaun Ryder since he shaved his head?"

Another said: "Shaun Ryder of Happy Mondays, is he now Buster Bloodvessel in disguise?"

Fans were also shocked last week when Shaun appeared on Googlebox.

One viewer said: "I'm no expert but Shaun Ryder looks a bit ill."

And another wrote: "Shaun looks... healthy", followed by a shocked face emoji.

But Shaun explained the reason for his changed appearance. He said: "I've lost my eyelashes, my eyebrows, my hair and I've got no hair anywhere else.

"The doctors thought it was because I've got an under-active thyroid and I'm not producing any more testosterone.

"But it's not that, they also thought it might be stress related, but I'm the least stressed I've ever been in my life. So there will be more tests to come."

Fronted by Shaun, the iconic Manchester band will play their greatest hits on a 30-date UK tour later this year.

The I'm A Celebrity star was also discussing what fame is like 40 years on from when the band first started.
