Shocked school children find newborn kittens left for dead

A litter of kittens were dumped in a plastic bag and left for dead by a bus shelter in Mullaghbawn, Co. Armagh.

(USPCA)

They were rescued by what was believed to be a group of school-children earlier this morning by a bus stop and brought to their local USPCA centre.

A spokesperson for the animal cruelty protection charity, said that the kittens could have not been more than a day or two old, and it was likely that they would have spent an "entire night in the damp cold."

They thanked the member of public who brought the kittens in, and have said that the kittens are responding well to the care they are receiving which includes being bottle fed every hour.
