Shock Strictly Come Dancing result sees front runners Dev and Diane go home

In one of the biggest shocks ever to happen on Strictly Come Dancing, a couple who were right near the top of the leaderboard last week have become the latest casualty of the ballroom.

Saturday night's Strictly live show saw a number of couples get their best scores of the series so far but after, wowing with their Couples Choice last week and getting 36/40, Dev Griffin and pro partner Diane Buswell slipped down the rankings this week after only scoring 27 for their Cha Cha Cha to Sam Smith's Dancing With A Stranger.

And their downturn in form cost them dear as they landed in the bottom two, going against Emma Weymouth and partner Aljaz Skorjanec, who scored 28 for their Jive to Kids in America by Kim Wilde.

The decision on who left the competition, as always rested with the judges and Craig Revel-Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Bruno Tonioli and head judge Shirley Ballas all elected to save Emma & Alijaz, sealing Dev and Diane's fate.

The result stunned viewers who had already taken to Twitter after finding out about Dec's elimination on the Strictly Spoiler hashtag on Twitter.

One ranted "Goodnight to everyone except the strictly judges who made that horrible decision."
