Shock on farm in Blarney, Co Cork as ewe gives birth to quintuplets

A farming family is celebrating after three ewes delivering 11 lambs in recent days with one ewe giving birth to quintuplets.

Declan Holland, of Blarney, Co Cork, said they were “absolutely thrilled” with the new arrivals.

He told Virgin Media News they were shocked at the birth
of the quintuplet lambs – four females and a male.

Then two of that ewe’s sisters also delivered triplets over the past two days.

Declan said: “All done and all safe, thank God. There were cups of tea all round to celebrate and everyone is over the moon.”

Irish Mirror comment

It's wonderful to hear a good ewes story down on the farm.

Three mums gave birth to an incredible 11 lambs in Cork.

They’re all healthy... and mutton looks as good as that.
