Gardai made a shock discovery in a quiet Dublin suburb last night as a teen was found on the ground covered in blood following a brutal attack.

The young boy was left with significant injuries after he had his head and face busted open in the early hours of this morning.

Officers rushed to the scene of the assault at Rathsallagh Park in Shankill shortly after 3am this morning where they made the horrifying find.

The teen was taken to St. Vincent's Hospital where he is still recovering from his injuries.
