Shock dashcam footage shows two girls walking in front of cars on busy Scots road

This is the shocking moment two girls narrowly avoided being ploughed down by cars on a motorway .

Dashcam footage captured on the A75 at the Collin bypass in Dumfries and Galloway shows two vehicles driving at speed on the two-lane road.

As they approach a turn off the camera picks up two girls casually strolling across the road until they notice the cars.

Drivers approaching the two girls were forced to apply the breaks to avoid colliding with them during the incident at the weekend.

The girls were nearly hit by the cars on the A75 (Police Scotland)

Cops in the area have warned against any such behaviour again and said someone was lucky they weren't seriously injured or worse.

Sergeant Jonny Edgar of the local Roads Policing Unit said: "The footage shows the two girls having absolutely no regard for either their own safety or that of the car drivers involved.

"This behaviour can only be described as extremely dangerous and it is by good fortune alone that someone hasn’t been seriously injured or worse.

"I would encourage anyone witnessing behaviour like this to contact Police Scotland immediately."
