Shock as popular East Lothian dog walk littered with can lids 'purposely' placed

Those planning to visit a popular East Lothian beach have been issued a warning from a concerned local this morning after dangerous and sharp can lids had been discovered 'purposely' hidden.

Posting to a community Facebook group, one Dunbar resident wrote: "Please be wary when walking your dogs on the long stretch towards Whitesands Bay Beach.

"Someone has dug can lids into the grass, sharp end sticking up amongst the grass.

"I've collected five so far and as you can see they've been dug in."

After other locals suggested a grass cutter had sliced the cans, the Facebook user added: "The grass hasn’t been cut in a week or two, I often see the tractor when I am up with the dog and these weren’t there yesterday unfortunately."

Another added: "You have to wonder what the hell is wrong with some people."

Just over 2 miles down the coast from Dunbar,Whitesands is a popular beach for dogwalkers in and around East Lothian.
