Shock as man attacked and robbed of iPhone, cash and laptop on Morningside street

A 32-year-old man was attacked and robbed of his iPhone, laptop and cash in a shocking incident in Morningside.

Police have issued descriptions of two men they are looking to trace in connection with the crime, which happened at around 10pm on Friday (28 February).

They say that the victim was walking close to the junction of Cluny Avenue and Heritage Terrace when he was approached by the duo. He was assaulted and robbed of his phone, Apple laptop and a two-figure sum of cash. He was said to have been "unhurt but shocked" by the incident.

One of the men responsible is described as being white, in his late 20s to early 30s, 5ft 9ins tall, of slim build and wearing a grey hooded top with hood up, dark tracksuit bottoms. He spoke with a local accent.

The second man is described as being 5ft 8ins and wearing a dark jacket. Both ran off towards Hermitage Terrace.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 4322 of 28 February. Alternatively get in touch with Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
