Shock as car crashes through house in Nottinghamshire town

Firefighters responded to an incident where a vehicle crashed into a house.

On Wednesday, October 13 the emergency services were called to Lowmoor Road, Kirkby in Ashfield, at 5:58pm.

A fire engine from Ashfield Fire Station attended the scene where it was discovered a dog, believed to be called Woody, was trapped inside the house following the incident.

A water tender ladder (the ladder seen on top of a fire engine) was used alongside forceful entry tools to get into the car and help free the dog inside the property.

No one was injured, the fire service says.

People took to Ashfield Fire Station's Facebook page to express their shock and praise the work of the firefighters.

One person commented: "We are just so thankful that our daughter and family are safe, including Woody.

"Thank you to all who helped."

Another added: "Glad to hear no one was seriously hurt."
