Shoaib Malik and Sana Javed pregnancy buzz: When Sania Mirza revealed cricketer wanted to be a dad to a baby girl

Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik and his new wife, actress Sana Javed, are making headlines amid rumours that they are expecting their first child together.

Speculation began after Sana appeared on a Ramzan special episode of a popular Pakistani television show. In a viral clip circulating on social media, the actress was seen reacting strongly to certain food items, appearing nauseous, which led fans to believe she might be pregnant.

Social media users were quick to comment on the video. One user wrote, “I think she’s pregnant; this happens in early pregnancy,” while another added, “Is she expecting?”

Shoaib Malik is already a father to Izhaan Mirza Malik, whom he co-parents with his ex-wife, Indian tennis star Sania Mirza. The former couple welcomed their son on October 30, 2018.

Before welcoming their baby, Sania had expressed her desire to carry forward her family name. Speaking at a Gender Bias panel back in 2018, she shared, “My husband and I have decided that whenever we have a child, the child will have Mirza Malik as the surname and not just Malik.”

During the same discussion, Sania also revealed Shoaib’s wish to be a dad to a baby girl, adding, “He actually wants a daughter."

While neither Shoaib nor Sana has publicly addressed the pregnancy rumours, the couple has fans and the media on bump watch.

Before Sana, Shoaib was married to Indian ace tennis player Sania Mirza, though the couple parted ways in 2024 . Taking to social media her frailly issued a statement , they said , " Sania has always kept her personal life away from the public eye. However, today the need has arisen for her to share that Shoaib and she have been divorced for a few months now. She wishes Shoaib well for his new journey ahead!," read the statement issued by Mirza's family".
