Shkodran Mustafi speaks out on his future amid Arsenal links to Saliba, Manolas and Umtiti

Shkodran Mustafi has been tipped to leave Arsenal during the summer transfer window.

The German defender once again struggled for consistency during the season, highlighted by a poor showing in the 3-2 home defeat by Crystal Palace last month in which he was at fault for all three goals.

That proved to be the final straw for the majority of Gunners supporters, with one in particular bizarrely creating a petition on Change.org asking 'life imprisonment' of the centre-back.

Furthermore, both Charlie Nicholas and Sol Campbell have called on the north London outfit to ensure Mustafi is not still at the club once the transfer window closes in August.

"Shkodran Mustafi must be released in my opinion," the former said when addressing Arsenal's transfer priorities. "Konstantinos Mavropanos and Rob Holding are still to come back when they are fit."

The good news is that there seems to be interest in 27-year-old with AC Milan - where Ivan Gazidis is now Chief Executive - being heavily backed to make a move in the coming months.

Add to that, the Gunners have been linked with moves for AS Roma's Kostas Manolas, Saint-Etienne's William Saliba and Barcelona's Samuel Umtiti among other central defender should Mustafi leave.

However, it would appear that the World Cup winner has no plans to depart the Emirates Stadium anytime soon despite the ongoing speculation regarding his future.

"It is odd that there are always transfer speculations," Mustafi told German publication Kicker. "I am an Arsenal player and have a contract until 2021."

These comments won't go down too well with the majority of Arsenal supporters.

football.london gave fans the chance to have their say on who should be kept and who should be sold from the current squad. Results showed only 3.2% are in favour of Mustafi staying beyond the summer.
