Shkodran Mustafi sends sarcastic message to an Arsenal fan after keeping two clean sheets

Shkodran Mustafi hit back sarcastically at an Arsenal fan who pointed out that the Gunners have kept clean sheets in his past two games.

The German centre-back isn't the most celebrated figure among supporters at the Emirates due to the fact he has an error or two in him.

This season he has seen himself fall down the pecking order with Unai Emery appearing to favour a pairing of David Luiz and Rob Holding.

But Mustafi has featured twice for the Gunners this campaign - once in the Europa League and once in the Carabao Cup - and on both occasions Arsenal have kept a clean sheet.

Picking up on this and directing a message at Mustafi, an Arsenal fan tweeted: "I hate to say this but Mustafi has played two games and kept two clean sheets."

Hitting back sarcastically at the bizarre statement from the fan, the German defender replied: "Sorry for keeping the two clean sheets."

Mustafi first featured for the Gunners this season in a 3-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt away from home in the Europa League.

He then played five days later in the league cup, as the Gunners ran out 5-0 winners over Championship opposition Nottingham Forest.

Arsenal will now play Liverpool in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
