Shkodran Mustafi sends message to Arsenal fans after the Gunners' draw with Vitoria

Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi has vowed to "keep fighting" after the Gunners' conceded a late equaliser in the draw with Vitoria in Portugal yesterday (Wednesday).

Mustafi had looked to have put the Gunners on course for a fourth win in a row in the group stage of the Europa League this season, having put Unai Emery's men in front with a header in the 80th minute of the game in Guimaraes.

But for the fourth successive game in all competitions, Arsenal failed to win having led, with Bruno Duarte scoring in injury time to salvage a point for the hosts.

Once again, Arsenal's defending was criticised after former Tottenham youngster Marcus Edwards drove into the box to deliver a cross, which the Gunners failed to clear, before Duarte netted with a scissor kick to end the visitors' 100 per cent record in the competition.

But Mustafi, who spoke after the game about Arsenal's defensive tactics and how the Gunners found it difficult against Vitoria, has since sent a message to supporters via social media.

Taking to Twitter, the German defender posted a picture of him celebrating his goal against Vitoria, accompanied by the words: "Listen & learn. We keep fighting."

The draw in Portugal leaves Arsenal top of Group F with ten points from four games, and on the verge of qualification for the knockout stages of the Europa League.

The Gunners return to Premier League action this weekend, with Unai Emery's men travelling to face Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.
