Shkodran Mustafi responds to Arsenal fan on social media following Carabao Cup clean sheet

Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi has responded to an Arsenal fan on social media following his appearance against Nottingham Forest.

The German international has been named in the center of the Gunners' defence on two occasions so far this season, in the Europa League against Eintracht Frankfurt and in the Carabao Cup vs Nottingham Forest.

Both games have seen Arsenal come away as comfortable winners, with a 3-0 victory followed by a 5-0 victory against Forest. Both games have also seen Unai Emery's men register a clean sheet.

Mustafi looked like he could have been on his way out of the club during the summer, having fallen down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium, but the defender will be an Arsenal player until at least January.

An Arsenal fan has taken to social media in order to point out the fact that the players' two appearances have bought two clean sheets.

"I hate to say this, but Mustafi has played two games and kept two clean sheets," the fan tweeted.

The tweet prompted a response from the player himself.

"Sorry for keeping two clean sheets," the defender replied.

The 27-year-old played 40 times for Arsenal last season, but a number of individual defensive efforts saw him lose his place in the team for this season.
