BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was scheduled to leave for Uttarakhand on Sunday night, soon after news came of the horrific bus accident in which at least 25 people from Panna district were killed.

The bus had 30 people — 28 tourists, and the driver and helper. Additional chief secretary, home, Rajesh Rajora, said that his counterpart in Uttarakhand has confirmed 25 deaths. Three are critically injured and rescuers are trying to locate two others.

Minister for mineral resources and labour, Brajendra Pratap Singh, who is from Panna, and four senior officials are accompanying the CM.

Chouhan will stay in Dehradun for the night to coordinate and monitor relief and rescue operations and will leave for the site of the accident early Monday morning.
