Shivamogga: Two poll staff reach mustering centre in drunken state

Shivamogga Deputy Commissioner Dr. R. Selvamani suspended two officials, drafted for the poll duty, on charges of reporting to the mustering centre on Tuesday, May 9, in drunken state.

The officials suspended are B. Ramesh, Horticulture Assistant, BRP in Bhadravathi taluk and Malatesh N., assistant teacher of Government Higher Primary School at Huruli in Sorab taluk.

Both were drafted for poll duty in Shivamogga Rural Assembly Constituency. When they reported to duty at NES College, where the mustering centre was set up, it was noticed that they were in an inebriated state. Senior officials sent them for medical examination at Mc Gann Hospital in Shivamogga.
