Shiv Sena workers vandalise government property in Wardha

WARDHA: The conflict within the district unit of Shiv Sena came to fore, when all the party workers were gathered at government guest house to start the Shivsampark Abhiyan in district from Tuesday. Before starting the Abhiyan, workers started fighting by dividing into groups and vandalised the guest house furniture around 2pm.

District head of communication and former member of parliament Anant Gudhe has lodged a police complaint at city police station against Tushar Devdhe over the incident.

The Shivsampark campaign is being implemented from March 22 to March 25. For this, Shiv Sena functionaries and some office bearers had arrived at the government guest house from Mumbai too. “Former Shiv Sena sub-district chief Tushar Devdhe entered the rest house with his party workers. He got into an argument with campaign assembly coordinator Ganesh Tone and chief of district unit Anil Deotare, threatening to kill them”, said Anant Gudhe.

Shiv Sena MP Kripal Tumane has been given the responsibility of Wardha district for this campaign, but before his reaching guest houses, workers started fighting after the argument. While addressing the press conference after the incident took place, MP Tumane, said, “Our party chief has given us responsibility to meet all the party workers in district to decide the further post and position of unit, unfortunately Tushar Devdhe created this chaos as he was drunk.”

Police inspector Satyaveer Bandiwar said, “We have received the complaint that Tushar Devdhe has vandalised the furniture and damaged the government property with his followers. The process of filing complaint and investigation is going on.”
