Shirtless men roll on floor fighting in latest video of violence in Neath town centre

There has been yet another fight filmed in Neath town centre.

The latest footage, shot in the heart of Neath's shopping district, is just one more example of the anti-social behaviour traders and visitors have claimed is a daily occurrence.

It shows two men stripped to their waists throwing punches at each other.

The fight appears to begin with a third man pulling one away, and after the two men exchange blows a woman intervenes, swinging a fist of her own at one of the men. She then becomes a target.

The man turns on her, pushing both his hands into her face, before shoving her onto the side of a car and then knocking her to the floor.

Some shoppers stop to observe the violence, but perhaps in a sign of how common a sight such behaviour is now, others stroll on by going about their business.

Lynette Veysey, who filmed the footage at around midday on Tuesday, July 27, said: "I'm frightened to let my granddaughter to town on her own because it feels so unsafe. More policing would be a massive help to the community."

Depressingly common scenes such as this latest one are among the reasons South Wales Police launched Operation Lileum in March.

The operation is aimed at cracking down on anti-social behaviour, following complaints that drinking, drug taking, and fighting are part of everyday life in the town centre.

Just two weeks ago another fight was caught on camera, when once again a man was spotted striking a woman to her head as people were heard to usher children away.

Other incidents in the same area include a stabbing which resulted in an armed police response and two people being taken to hospital.

Nearby, a man was found armed with a knife and hammer in an off-licence, while a teen involved with organised crime was found carrying a machete.

And on the same day police launched Operation Lileum, an officer was injured in yet another incident.

South Wales Police said that, since April 7, Operation Lileum had seen:

· 57 arrests made

· 6 people reported for summons

· 112 anti-social behaviour referrals

· 6 restorative justice procedures

· 72 Section 35 dispersal notices issued

· 4 cannabis warnings

· 48 intelligence led stop/searches

· 2 misuse of drugs premises warrants executed in the town centre
