Shirley Ballas 'can't even boil an egg' despite signing up for Cooking With The Stars

Shirley Ballas admitted she is Strictly useless in the kitchen ahead of her appearance on Cooking With The Stars.

The ballroom queen, 60, said the show is among the “hardest things I’ve ever done” after revealing she can’t even boil an egg.

She is one of eight stars who will be paired with professional chefs in a bid to train them to top restaurant standards.

They are isolating ahead of filming but Shirley said: “It’s quite difficult challenges. This is one amazing show.”

Actress Catherine Tyldesley, McFly’s Harry Judd, comic Johnny Vegas and TV host AJ Odudu will also appear.

The expert chefs, who include Rosemary Shrager, may be in for a tough time with Shirley.

She has previously said an ex-boyfriend once described a spaghetti bolognese she cooked for him as tasting “like wallpaper paste”.

In the past, Shirley said: “I once blew up an egg in a microwave.

“I opened the door and the egg exploded all over the ceiling – it was in my hair, everywhere.

“Hence my children always say, ‘She can’t even boil an egg’.”

Emma Willis and Tom Allen will host the series.

The bottom two will have to create a dish to determine who leaves.

The team of chefs include Nisha Katona, Joseph Denison Carey, Mark Sargeant and Jack Stein.

Judy Joo, Tristan Welch and Francesco Mazzei are also mentors.

Strictly Come Dancing winner Ore Oduba has revealed his wife Portia is expecting their second child in October.
