This time, these Pokémon also have sparkles next to their name in the wild so you don't miss them when locking in to them.
The chances of spotting any shiny Pokémon, also known as Shiny Odds, are 1 in 4096 in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. That information is never revealed in the game itself, but it has been found in the files by reliable dataminers in the community, and it matches the base shiny odds of previous games like Scarlet and Violet and Legends Arceus. A 1 in 4096 chance means a 0.024% likelihood that any Pokémon that the game spawns in the wild will be shiny.
How to increase the odds of finding Shiny Pokémon in Legends ZA
The only known way today to increase your chances of finding Shiny Pokémon in ZA is by getting to level 50 of Mable's Pokédex Research, which will reward you with a Shiny Charm. Once this item is in your Satchel, it's always active, and it increases the odds of spotting a Shiny Pokémon to 4 in 4096, or roughly
1 in 1024.38.
That means on average, in the time you would take to find a single Shiny Pokémon without the Charm, you should spot four Shinies instead.
From this point on, the only way to speed up your search for shinies is by using some of the shiny hunting methods we have tested. These methods let you respawn Pokémon in Wild Zones faster than usual, so you increase the rate at which you're seeing new Pokémon and, in return, see shiny Pokémon faster. The Wild Zone 3 method, for example, is one I've personally used to get the shiny Skiddo you see in the features image of this article, so I can attest that this method works.
