Shinji Kagawa joins fifth club since leaving Manchester United

Former Manchester United midfielder Shinji Kagawa has joined his fifth club since leaving Old Trafford.

Kagawa joined United in the summer of 2012 for £14.4m from Borussia Dortmund, however in 57 appearances for the club he only managed six goals and 10 assists.

This led to him being resold to Dortmund for a loss in 2014 and he stayed in Germany for five years, spending time on loan at Besiktas.

He eventually left the Bundesliga side for Real Zaragoza where he was released after a year before joining PAOK.

Now 32, Kagawa has yet another new club - this time in Belgium.

The Japanese international has joined Sint-Truiden who ply their trade in the Jupiler Pro League.

Sint-Truiden have not had a particularly great season so far in the top flight and find themselves in 13th just five points above the relegation play off places.

Upon the announcement of his signing, he told the club website: "Hello STVV supporters. I have made the decision to come with a strong determination.

"I want to contribute with my football and experience and help the team achieve its goals. I look forward to serving the fans and supporters. Thank you for your support."
