'Shining' - Ex-Manchester United star Romelu Lukaku and others react to Jesse Lingard's brace

Footballers and celebrities have been reacting to Jesse Lingard's double for West Ham United on Sunday afternoon.

The Manchester United loanee scored twice for the Hammers as they beat Leicester City 3-2 to climb back into the top four of the Premier League table.

Lingard has been in fine for the Irons since making the loan move in January - scoring eight goals in his nine Premier League appearances.

The latest two, that came against the third-place Foxes, increased the 28-year-old's hopes of making the England squad for this summer's European Championships.

His first goal was a volley that he placed into the bottom corner past Kasper Schmeichel on 29 minutes before doubling his and West Ham's tally less than a quarter of an hour later, tapping in after a smart run from Jarrod Bowen.

This has triggered a mass reaction on Twitter from Manchester United and West Ham supporters, but some more well-known figures have expressed their feelings too.

Former United striker Romelu Lukaku - who of course played alongside Lingard - was quick to heap praise on his old team-mate.

Singer Anne-Marie also got involved in the Lingard love-in, saying the England midfielder is "shining" at the moment.

Before his move to east London, Lingard's three appearances for United all came in cup competitions with Bruno Fernandes being Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's main man in a similar position, which ultimately restricted the Englishman's chances of playing.

Lingard has been linked with a permanent move to the London Stadium, but he is also reportedly a target for Arsenal.

The report states that if the Gunners are unable to keep hold of loanee Martin Odegaard beyond this season, then they could turn their attention to the Man United attacker.

No option was included in Lingard's loan contract about West Ham signing the player on a permanent basis.
